Loro Parque opens every day of the year, including Sundays and public holidays, from 09:30 to 17:30. There is no summer or winter schedule to remember: the only timetable that changes is the one for the animal presentations, which is posted at the entrance each morning. Here are the hours, the typical show schedule, how long the visit takes and the arrival time that makes the day work.
The park runs one schedule for the whole year: gates open at 09:30 and close at 17:30, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Christmas Day and New Year's Day are ordinary opening days. Restaurants inside serve from about 11:00 to 16:30, the kiosks for the whole opening time. Tickets are dated but not timed, so you can arrive at any hour; the only practical deadline is the show timetable, because the last orca presentation runs mid-afternoon.
| What | Hours | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Park | 09:30–17:30 | Every day of the year, holidays included |
| Ticket desk | From 09:30 | Online tickets skip the queue; it is longest 10:30–12:00 |
| Restaurants | About 11:00–16:30 | Kiosks and cafés for the whole opening time |
| Free Loro Parque Express train | Every 20 min | From the centre of Puerto de la Cruz; see the getting there page |
Four presentations run several times a day: parrots, sea lions, dolphins and the orcas at Orca Ocean. The timetable below is the one published for the current season by local guides and is typical, not guaranteed: the park adjusts it by season and prints the day's version on boards at the entrance and on the map's QR code. Photograph the board as you walk in and build the route around it. Arrive at Orca Ocean 20 minutes early; the lower rows are the splash zone and you will get wet with salt water.
| Presentation | Typical times | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Parrots | 10:25 · 12:30 · 14:30 · 15:30 · 16:45 | Loro Show theatre |
| Sea lions | 09:45 · 10:45 · 13:45 · 14:45 | Sea lion arena |
| Dolphins | 11:00 · 13:00 · 16:15 | Dolphinarium |
| Orcas | 11:55 · 15:15 | Orca Ocean |
The walking route is about 35,000 square metres of paths through the botanical garden, the aquarium, Planet Penguin, Katandra Treetops and the big-animal enclosures. Without the presentations it is a three-hour walk; with two or three shows it fills five to seven hours, which is why most visitors treat it as a full day. Families with small children usually stop at Kinderlandia, the playground, for an hour. If you only have an afternoon, enter by 13:00: you still catch the 15:15 orcas, the 16:15 dolphins and the 16:45 parrots.
The quietest hours are the first and the last: at 09:30 the coach groups have not arrived, and after 16:00 they have left. The orca presentation at 11:55 is the busiest moment of the day. Ticket types and what each includes are on the prices and discounts page.
Puerto de la Cruz is on the green north coast and is cloudier and a few degrees cooler than the southern resorts; rain showers are common in winter but rarely last. Much of the route is under trees or indoors, so the park does not close for weather, and the aquarium, AquaViva and Planet Penguin are the wet-day plan. In summer bring a hat: the amphitheatres are in full sun. Routes from every resort and both airports are on the getting there page, and what each enclosure holds is on the animals page.
09:30, every day of the year. It closes at 17:30.
Yes. The park opens 365 days a year, including Christmas and New Year, with the same 09:30 to 17:30 hours.
Typically 11:55 and 15:15. The park prints the day's exact times at the entrance; arrive 20 minutes before.
Five to seven hours to see the enclosures and two or three presentations. The walk alone takes about three hours.
No fixed last entry, but arriving after 15:00 means missing most presentations. For a half day, enter by 13:00.
No. Much of the route is shaded or indoors, and the aquarium and penguin house make a good rainy-day plan.
